Maintenance of an Ice Bank Bulk Milk Tank while not in use

During the Winter if all the Cows are not milking for a period of time the Ice Bank Bulk Milk Tank can be turned off. However a number of precautions should be taken to avoid costly repairs
- The tank should be completely washed and inspected following the final collection.
- The power to the compressor can be shut off completely, however the tank control box should remain on to reduce the chance of a moisture build up.
- The compressor should be switched on for 5 minutes once a week.
- The chilled water pump should be switched on for 5 minutes once a week.
- The agitators should be switched on for 5 minutes once a week.
Before recommencing supplying milk the tank should be switched on and washed to ensure that it is working correctly
